ABOUT COOKIES

When we provide services, we want them to be easy, useful and reliable. When we offer services over the Internet, it often involves storing a minimal amount of information on your device (be it computer, tablet or mobile). This includes small files called cookies, which cannot be used to identify you personally, as they are only associated with an anonymous user and their device.

Thus, cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or the equipment they use and, depending on the information they contain and the way they use their equipment, they can be used to recognize the user (not the person).

Out of the different types of existing cookies, those that require informed consent by the user are analytical, advertising and affiliation cookies, excluding those of a technical nature and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.

Types of cookies

  • According to the entity that manages them:
    • Own: those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself, and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
    • Third-party: those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.
  • According to the time they remain active:
    • Session: designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page.
    • Persistent: in which the data is stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the person responsible for the cookie (can range from a few minutes to several years).
  • According to the purpose for which they process the information they collect:
    • Technical: necessary for the use of the website and the provision of the contracted service.
    • Personalization: which allow the user to access the service with predefined characteristics, such as language, browser type, regional settings, etc.
    • Analysis: they collect information on the use made of the website.
    • Advertising: they collect information about the preferences and personal choices of users.
    • Affiliates: they allow you to track visits from other websites, with which the website establishes an affiliation contract.
