TUESDAY 12th AUGUST

Forest qualification in Pals

Close to the best coves of the Costa Brava, we find this wonderful forest between the towns of Pals, Regencós and Begur. The terrain combines different parts, mostly flat, with many details of small contours, depressions, knolls… And there are other parts with small hills with soft contours where you always need to use the compass to follow the right direction. There are few boulders on the map, and these are located in areas of low visibility providing opportunity for good runners to perfect their bearings.

WEDNESDAY 13th AUGUST

Middle Distance Final in Pals

Close to the best coves of the Costa Brava, we find this wonderful forest between the municipalities of Pals, Regencós and Begur. The terrain combines different parts, mostly flat, with many details of small contours, depressions, knolls… And there are other parts with small hills with soft contours where you always need to use the compass to follow the right direction. There are only a few boulders on the map, but these are placed in some areas that could make it difficult to follow the routes, where there is not a very good visibility. This provides more opportunities to good runners with directions.

THURSDAY 14th AUGUST

Forest Model Event

We are working to find a suitable area to hold a second model event in a forest similar to the one that will be used for the Long Distance Final.

FRIDAY 15th AUGUST

Long Distance Final in Cassà de la Selva / Closing Ceremony

The forest of Les Gavarres is the green lung of Girona, and reaches from the outskirts of the city to the sea. One of its corners is Can Vilallonga, in Cassà de la Selva, a protected area where various conservation projects are carried out such as the use of animals to clean the undergrowth. This allows us to have a map of cork oak forests, with elements of human activity, with a clean undergrowth, and a gentle slope. It allows fast races where you will have to choose between compass orientation or the use of paths.
